Best Sim Racing Steering Wheel for PC: A Guide by Price Range
In short: the best steering wheel for PC is the one that fits your budget without forcing you to buy again a few months later. With direct drive, prices start at €299 for a complete setup with pedals, while between €450 and €900 you'll also find 9 to 12 Nm wheelbases, the torque manufacturers describe as sufficient for most racing. In this guide you'll find 16 PC setups divided into four price ranges, with what each one includes and who it's designed for.
We've only chosen steering wheels that we sell and provide Italy-based technical support for. They are all direct drive: if you want to understand how this technology works and how much torque you need, start with the direct drive wheelbase guide; if you're putting together a whole simulator, start with the home driving simulator guide.

How we chose the PC steering wheels
There is no single best steering wheel: there is the right one for your budget, the space you have and the kind of driving you're interested in. That's why we've divided the setups by price range and, within each range, assessed them against the same criteria:
- PC compatibility: every setup in this guide works on PC, the platform with the widest choice of sims and peripherals.
- Wheelbase torque: this indicates how much force the steering wheel can deliver to you, but it isn't the only yardstick.
- What's in the box: wheelbase and steering wheel, or pedals too. At the same price, a setup with pedals lets you start driving straight away.
- Ecosystem and upgrades: how easy it is, in future, to change steering wheel, upgrade the wheelbase or move to better pedals without starting over.
- Several brands per range: where the catalogue allows, each range has options from different brands, so you can compare them.
Prices are those in our catalogue at the time of writing, VAT included: you'll always find the up-to-date price on the product pages.

For MOZA, a high-end setup is built from individual components: you'll find the details further down.
Entry level: up to €450
In this range you'll find complete setups, with wheelbase, steering wheel and pedals in the same box. Wheelbases range from 3.9 to 6 Nm: enough force to learn racing lines and car control, and suitable for a sturdy desk too.
MOZA R3 Bundle PC: the most affordable way to start
The MOZA R3 Bundle PC (€299) brings together the 3.9 Nm R3 wheelbase, the ES Lite steering wheel with 22 customisable buttons and steel pedals with Hall sensors. It's the most affordable direct drive setup in our catalogue, designed for those who want to try sim racing on a limited budget. Its torque is the lowest in this guide: if you plan to drive often, consider the 5-6 Nm options too.
PXN VD6 Bundle: 6 Nm with steering wheel and pedals
The PXN VD6 Bundle (€389) pairs a 6 Nm wheelbase, with a 24-bit magnetic encoder, with a 28 cm steering wheel featuring 19 controls and pedals with Hall sensors. It's a complete PC setup, with 6 Nm versus the 3.9 Nm of the MOZA R3 bundle.
MOZA R5 Pro Bundle: 6 Nm and a 21-bit encoder
The MOZA R5 Pro Bundle (€419) combines the 6 Nm R5 Pro wheelbase, with a 21-bit magnetic encoder, with the 280 mm ES Lite steering wheel with 10 RGB LEDs, the SRP Lite 2 pedals with Hall sensors and the desk clamp. It's a complete setup for playing at your desk; for a load cell brake you can add dedicated pedals later.
Fanatec CSL DD QR2 Ready2Race Bundle: ready to grow
The CSL DD QR2 Ready2Race Bundle (€429) includes the 5 Nm CSL DD wheelbase with QR2 mount, the 300 mm P1 V2 steering wheel and the 2-pedal CSL pedals. Its strength is the upgrade path: the wheelbase reaches 8 Nm with the Boost Kit 180 (€99) and the pedals become load cell with the CSL Load Cell Kit (€79).
Mid-range: €450 to €900
Here torque rises to 12 Nm, the range Fanatec and MOZA describe as sufficient for most racing, and the steering wheels become more fully featured. Pay attention to what's in the box: some setups include pedals, others only the wheelbase and steering wheel.
PXN VD10 + GT ONE: 10 Nm and a GT steering wheel packed with controls
The PXN VD10 + GT ONE (€529) pairs a 10 Nm wheelbase with the 300 mm GT ONE steering wheel, featuring 78 programmable inputs, carbon paddles and dual clutch paddles. Pedals are not included.
Fanatec CSL DD Ready2Race GT3 Bundle: complete and GT-focused
The CSL DD Ready2Race GT3 Bundle (€529) uses the same 5 Nm CSL DD wheelbase as the entry-level range, but with the 300 mm GT3 steering wheel, rubberised grips and magnetic paddles, plus the 2-pedal CSL pedals. It's designed for those who mainly drive GT cars and want a steering wheel closer to real racing ones; the same wheelbase and pedal upgrades remain available.
MOZA R12 (V2) + KS: 12 Nm and an endurance steering wheel
The MOZA R12 (V2) + KS (€649) combines the 12 Nm R12 wheelbase with the KS steering wheel, a 300 mm endurance-style wheel with magnetic paddles, dual clutch paddles and 70 inputs. MOZA describes 12 Nm as a suitable force for almost every discipline. Pedals are not included.

It's the most complete setup in this range: wheelbase, GT-style steering wheel and load cell pedals, with no extra purchases needed.
High end: €900 to €1,500
In this range torque reaches up to 25 Nm and the steering wheels feature racing-grade materials and controls. With these forces it's best to mount everything on a cockpit: we explain why in the direct drive wheelbase guide.
Simagic Alpha EVO Pro + GT Neo: 18 Nm for GT cars
The Alpha EVO Pro + GT Neo bundle (€1,089) pairs the 18 Nm Alpha EVO Pro wheelbase with the 300 mm GT Neo steering wheel with dual clutch paddles. It's designed for GT3 and GT4 cars and for those who want plenty of torque with a fully equipped GT steering wheel. Pedals are not included.

The Podium DD + CSL GT3 bundle (€1,298) brings the 25 Nm of the Podium DD in under €1,500, paired with the 300 mm CSL GT3 steering wheel. It's the choice for those who want the greatest force reserve in the range and plan to upgrade the steering wheel later on. Pedals are not included.
Simagic Alpha EVO + P1000 + Zeus GT: complete with pedals
The Alpha EVO + P1000 + Zeus GT bundle (€1,339) includes the 12 Nm Alpha EVO wheelbase, the 300 mm carbon and aluminium Zeus GT steering wheel and the 2-pedal P1000 set with a 100 kg load cell brake. Compared with the other options in this range it has less torque, but it's the only one with load cell pedals already included.
MOZA: a high-end setup built from individual components
MOZA has no bundles in this range in our catalogue, but you can build the setup yourself: for example the 21 Nm MOZA R21 Ultra wheelbase (€799) with the GS V2P steering wheel (€399), for €1,198 in total. A wheelbase and steering wheel from the same brand connect without adapters.
Top of the range: over €1,500
Above €1,500 you'll find the setups closest to professional simulators: wheelbases from 18 to 28 Nm, steering wheels with displays and racing-grade materials, and in some cases hydraulic pedals. This is the range for those who drive a lot and already know what they're looking for.

What to buy alongside your steering wheel
A steering wheel on its own isn't enough to drive: here's what to consider before completing your order.
- Pedals, if they're not included. They are the component with the biggest impact on braking consistency. A few examples from our catalogue: Fanatec CSL Pedals LC (€179), Simagic P700 2 Pedals (€229) and MOZA CRP2 2-Pedal Set (€399), all with a load cell brake. You'll find them all in the Sim racing pedals collection.
- Mounting suited to the torque. Up to 12 Nm, a sturdy desk with the manufacturer's clamps may be enough; with higher torque, a cockpit becomes the recommended choice. You'll find clamps and cockpits in the direct drive wheelbase guide.
- Shifter and handbrake, if you're into rallying, drifting or classic cars: you'll find them in the Sequential shifters collection.
- The PC. If you need a computer as well, our catalogue includes a few sim racing PCs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best steering wheel for PC?
It depends on your budget and how you drive. To get started, the complete setups under €450 already include pedals; between €450 and €900 you'll also find 9 to 12 Nm wheelbases, sufficient for most racing; above €900 torque rises to as much as 28 Nm.
What is the cheapest steering wheel for PC?
At the time of writing, in our catalogue it's the MOZA R3 Bundle PC at €299, with a 3.9 Nm direct drive wheelbase, steering wheel and pedals.
Which PC steering wheels include pedals?
In this guide, pedals are included with the MOZA R3 Bundle PC, PXN VD6 Bundle, MOZA R5 Pro Bundle, the two Fanatec CSL DD Ready2Race bundles, Simagic Alpha EVO Sport + GT Neo + P700, Alpha EVO + P1000 + Zeus GT and Alpha EVO Ultra + P2000 + Zeus Formula. Always check the contents on the product page.
Is a bundle or a separate wheelbase and steering wheel better?
A bundle is the simplest choice: the wheelbase, steering wheel and sometimes pedals are already compatible with each other. A separate wheelbase and steering wheel make sense when you already know which steering wheel you want, for example a specific formula rim, or when the brand doesn't offer the bundle you're looking for.
How many Nm do you need to play on PC?
Torque doesn't depend on the platform but on how you drive. Fanatec states that 8 Nm is more than enough for most racing situations; you'll find all the torque bands in the direct drive wheelbase guide.
Does a PC steering wheel also work on PS5 or Xbox?
Not always: on console, only peripherals with official support work. Among the setups in this guide, the Fanatec ClubSport Bundle Racing F1 is licensed for PlayStation 5 and is also compatible with PS4 and PC. For the others, check compatibility on the product page.
Which steering wheel do you need for Euro Truck Simulator 2?
For truck simulators, a large-diameter steering wheel is the best option. Our catalogue includes the MOZA R5 Truck Bundle (€499), with a 400 mm steering wheel, a 5.5 Nm wheelbase, SR-P Lite pedals and an adjustable stand, designed for titles such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.
